Girls Golf League FAQs

Our women’s leagues are a fun, social, and competitive way to improve your game, meet other golfers, and enjoy friendly match play. We’re offering two league formats this season, designed for players of all skill levels.

• 2v2 Scramble League (Beginner-Friendly & Handicap-Based)

  • Teams of two compete each week in a scramble format — everyone hits, then you play the best shot.

  • Perfect for newer golfers or anyone looking for a relaxed, team-oriented experience.

  • Bonus: Our staff will provide swing tips before each round to help you improve while you play.

  • Handicap-Based: The league is scored using X-Golf handicaps, so all skill levels can compete fairly.

  • Expected Duration: ~2 hours per night

• 3v3 Stroke Play League (Best Fit for Experienced Golfers & Handicap-Based)

  • Teams of three compete in a traditional stroke-play format.

  • Designed for golfers who’ve played outdoor rounds and can manage a full 18 holes — but thanks to handicaps, it’s still great for all skill levels.

  • Expected Duration: ~2 hours per night

  • Format Overview:

    • Each team has an A Handicap (best player), B Handicap, and C Handicap.

    • Each player is paired head-to-head against the opposing team’s player with the closest handicap.

    • Scoring System:

      • 1 point for each individual match won (3 total)

      • 1 bonus point for the team that wins 2 of 3 matches

      • 4 points total available each week

Both leagues are open to women of all skill levels. Whether you’re brand new to the game or an experienced golfer, there’s a league that fits you.

• Leagues run for 6 weeks, starting the week of November 3rd.

• We’re off Thanksgiving week — no matches on 11/24 or 11/25.

• No make-up rounds are available if a team cannot attend a week.

• Your league entry fee also includes a free handicap round to establish your X-Golf indoor handicap before league play begins.

• Flex Play Option: Some leagues offer flex play, but currently, the Monday and Tuesday night leagues do not.

Your indoor handicap works similarly to an outdoor golf handicap but is calculated separately based on simulator play.

• Most players find their indoor handicap is lower than their outdoor one since there are fewer environmental variables inside.

• Your handicap ensures a fair and balanced competition so golfers of all abilities can enjoy league play.

1. Book a 2-hour appointment through our online booking system.

2. Download the X-Golf App from the App Store or Google Play.

3. When you arrive, let our staff know you’re here for your handicap round — we’ll set everything up for you.

⚡ Pro Tip: Schedule your handicap round at least one week before the league begins.

• Monday Night League — 3v3 Stroke Play

  • Start Date: Monday, November 3rd

  • Warm-Up: Bays open at 5:30 PM

  • Matches Begin: 6:00 PM

  • Expected Duration: ~2 hours

• Tuesday Night League — 2v2 Scramble

  • Start Date: Tuesday, November 4th

  • Warm-Up: Bays open at 5:30 PM

  • Matches Begin: 6:00 PM

  • Expected Duration: ~2 hours

• Each team can have substitutes play in place of absent players.

• If a substitute has an X-Golf handicap, theirs will be used for the match.

• If they don’t have a handicap, they’ll play as a 0 handicap.

• Pro Tip: Have your subs complete a handicap round beforehand so you don’t lose out on points.

• If a team is missing a player entirely, the opposing team will compete against a 0 handicap for that slot.

• No make-up rounds are offered for missed weeks in the Monday and Tuesday leagues.

• League Fee: $250 per person

  • Includes:

    • Weekly simulator time for all 6 league matches

    • One free handicap round before the season starts

    • Swing tips from our staff before each round (Scramble League only)

    • League management and scoring

    • Access to exclusive X-Golf league perks

    • Playoff participation and prizes for winners

No problem — we’ll do our best to help you get into the league!

• If you’re an individual looking to join a team, please email Tim Gaffney at info@xgolffrederick.com.

• Tim will try his best to match you with a team, but there’s no guarantee that spots will be available.

• If we can’t add you to a team, we’ll place you in a substitute player pool, which is shared with league members so they can contact you directly if they need a sub.

Yes! Free rental clubs are included, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

• Winners of each league will receive exclusive prizes to celebrate their victory.
